Light is so much used in this world that it should be appropriately perceived. But detecting things isn’t always so simple. Beside valid signals there can be also many sounds and signs, it means noise, that can contravene detection process and make difficult to get right data.
The quality of such a detection system is usually measured using some form of a so called signal-to-noise ratio.
